I (name here), do solemnly swear to protect and defend this City Unseen and her people from prying eyes, malicious beings, and foreign enemies. I swear to keep watch vigilantly and faithfully against forces unseen and unheard. I take this burden willingly, freely, and truthfully. I freely give my sight for another vision for this great City Unseen and all her citizens and look forward to a day when all citizens of this great and ancient nation can live freely and without fear.

The first modern Seer, the Blind Prophet, wrote the Seer’s oath shortly before he was captured and murdered by the Prophet Killer over one hundred years ago, and we still use his words for our pledge even today. This is the oath of office you will take upon completing your training to become a Seer.

The last sentences of the original oath have been removed and are no longer said. However, it is shown in its entirety below for reference. Time has taught us many things. This war has taken much from us, and we must remember who our people really are and who we protect. While our Seers and Prophets keep our community together, we must focus on the here and now and the tangible. We must look ahead and not dwell on relics from the past. We cannot put our trust in myths and legends, but only in ourselves. We will save ourselves, and we will work towards that goal together.

I (name here), do solemnly swear to protect and defend this City Unseen and her people from prying eyes, malicious beings, and foreign enemies. I swear to keep watch vigilantly and faithfully against forces unseen and unheard. I take this burden willingly, freely, and truthfully. I freely give my sight for another vision for this great City Unseen and all her citizens and look forward to a day when all citizens of this great and ancient nation can live freely without fear. I serve and protect all citizens of this great nation, whether Unseen or Novan, from tyrannical rule and unjust laws. I serve until Perseus shall come and wake the ghosts, free the slaves, and end Loraine forever.
